  1. I my opinion a company with a good reputation represents themselves in an ethical way that gains their consumers trust, support good morals and charities, has quality products, and is able to manage their financial state and employees. These are supposed to maintain an image to the public that represents the company in a way where the consumer wants to but their products from, and where workers want to work or investors want to invest. However, a company can create a bad reputation for many things like involvement in unethical practice or criminal activity, produce low quality products, ignore customer safety and demands, and poorly treat their employees. A company with a bad reputation can repel consumers, workers, and investors.

Google, Rolex, and Walt Disney are companies with good reputation that follow the criteria for a company with a good reputation and public image. But they all exceed in certain things. Google exceeds in creating a reputation for having good morals, ethics, and has supported multiple charities with good causes, with worldwide recognition as the largest search engine the entire world. Rolex exceeds in creating high quality products that satisfies customer demands. Walt Disney exceeds in winning the hearts of their consumers both adults and children, and is admired for its innovation and social responsibility. These companies all followed a criteria necessary for a good reputation, but all three specially exceed in a certain way.

Monsanto, Electronic Arts, and The Trump Organization. Monsanto is a company that has a very bad reputation while creating a public image for being evil, mostly for ignoring morals and ethics and refusing to care about their customers. Electronic Arts has gained a reputation for buying the trademark for games and ruining the product, and is known for leaving the players of any EA game immensely disappointed. The Trump Organization has lost a group of consumers when he ran for president, which Trump than showed the world his radical views on politics. People who disagree with Trump's political views, or just thought he was a bad person refused to support the Trump Organization. These companies aren’t filed for bankruptcy because they still gain profit which seems like the only thing they do right. But they all perform extremely poorly in a specific category which results in a bad reputation.

    1. I agree with what you have to say. Companies like Rolex are known worldwide for the quality of their products and companies like EA are known for producing mediocre games and charging extra to unlock extra content which other developers don't do.

      Delete
    2. I mostly agree with you, but I think that EA provides better image quality than Gameloft in some Car-Racing games like Real Racing 3, comparing to Asphalt 8 by Gameloft. And I don't find some packages that charges more money, you just watching ads.

I mostly agree with you and I still think the quality is the first and then the price. Those factors determine how strongly the consumers will believe them. And the company shouldn't take part in some unethical events.

    4. I agree with you that good morals make good reputations and bad public image creates bad image reputation. It was good to know Rolex has a good reputation because I didn't expect.

  2. I think companies who have good reputations have trust of consumers, and it leads them to have more benefit. In my opinion, the most important ways to have good reputation is being benevolence for social values, improving work conditions and making quality products. Those are how consumers can believe some companies.
There are some companies having good reputations. In the other hand, there are bad reputed companies. In my opinion, Bad reputed companies have one of poor work conditions, no act for social value and low quality products.

LG and Google are examples of companies having a good reputation, and they have overall positive public images. LG has helped a lot of weak people, and support people who uphold social value. For example, they gave money to sons of Korea's independence movers, and price to person who subdues criminals. Google is known for having one of the best work conditions. Workers have freedom with what they want to do in work time as long as they can accomplish their work. Workers can even bring their pets and babies as long as their mates allow.

Hyundai and Samsung are examples of companies having a bad reputation, and they have negative positive image. Hyundai sells cars very cheap in foreign countries, and very expensive in Korea. It means their quality of car isn’t enough for the price they sell to Korean consumers. Samsung is known for having one of the harshest work conditions. Many people call samsung’s work culture as “Military”. Samsung’s worker came to workplace at 8 a.m. and go home at 10 pm. Also, many laborers who work in Samsung’s semiconductor factory by leukemia.

    1. I agree with you, trust between consumers and the company is probably the single most important factor when we think of their reputation. Businesses that are more reliable and trustworthy tend to get more business and customers since we know that they can get the job done, or provide a quality product.

      Delete
    2. I agree with you that trust is really important for businesses reputations because people won't go to stores if their goods and services can't be trusted. But I don't think that because Hyundai sells their cars at a different price in different countries that it makes them bad. If people are willing to buy the cars at a higher price, the companies would make a better profit.

    3. I think your right regarding what said about trust, that is one of the most important factors that give a company a good reputation. Also, I agree that companies that always improve their services and products have a better reputation than others.

I agree with you that the companies try to make the consumers believe them. The point is HOW do they do that? By making quality products and offering nice services. In your opinion, I understand the importance of the workplace. If we don't keep the restaurant clean and tidy, who is going to buy their food?

    5. I agree that a company must gain the trust of their consumers and earn loyalty in return. A company with more consumers means more profit which turns into more opportunities and resources to gain even more profit.

    6. I agree both LG and Google have impeccable reputations, especially google which is probably one of the most known companies in the world.

    7. I agree with you, having trust is the most important way to get a good reputation. People won’t buy products if they don’t trust the company and its product or service. Since customers have trust from the company, the profit will be increasing.

    8. I think your opinions about what gives a company good reputation are very well rounded. I also heard of the poor working conditions that are offered by Samsung. We have a similar company like Samsung that treats their employees unethically that caused many suicides in China too. It is called Foxconn. It is known to the public that how these companies don’t care about the human rights of their employees. But why would still people choose to work there makes me wonder.

  3. What do you think gives a company a good reputation?
The first thing comes to my mind is quality. Everything is based on this word. This reminds me of a famous slogan from Levis :”Quality never goes out of style.” Obviously people are not going to buy a thing with poor quality. Therefore good quality will always be part of the reputation. Furthermore, the quality needs to be guaranteed for a certain time so the services it offers are quite important. It’s called the after-sale service. The attitudes toward the customers and the ability that the workers are able to deal with some problems which hasn’t existed before are indispensable. On the other hand, price can also be one of the factors that is considered. People would like to buy cheap and well-made products. Therefore the price should better be acceptable. All of above tends to give the company a good reputation and construct its trust between the consumers and the company.

What are the criteria for a good business?
    1. A good business can at least make profits for itself. It needs profits to be maintained. Move one more step, the business can expand to make it bigger.
    2. The company is responsible to the society. I think the business should be harmless society.
    3. Good business also brings satisfied consumers and hard-working workers.

    Three businesses with good reputation
Huawei, Walmart, Fedex are the companies have a good reputation in my mind. Huawei provides the customers with the most developed technology. Walmart offers the people with cheap and well-made products. Fedex is fast and brings convenience to the users. No matter the goods they provide or the services they offer, are what consumers actually want.

    Three business with poor reputation
In my opinion,Foxconn, Marlboro, Tropicana Entertainment are with poor reputation. That’s because labor, tobacco, gambling are becoming less acceptable by the public. The main reason is that the workers in Foxconn work days and nights without stopping. Smoking and Gambling are harming the society. Therefore I think they are not going to have a good reputation.

    1. I agree with what you think gives a business a good reputation. Personally, I like to shop at places where I know the quality is there and I can rely on the product or service provided. For example, I purchased a MacBook knowing it was expensive, but that the quality was there and it would last me a very long time for the reason.

      Delete
    2. I can see a new perspective when you say that a companies image can be affected by what society accepts or what it wants. Examples I can think of are when society created a demand for a healthier alternative to smoking which made e-cigs acceptable, moving consumers from a tobacco company to an e-cig company.

  4. What do you think gives a company a good reputation?

I believe what gives a company a good reputation is its ability to do its job correctly, and even surpass people's initial expectations. Many fast food chains recently made a massive push towards teaching employees how to best treat a customer, and how to make them feel welcomed. Most notably Starbucks was able to completely change people's outlook on it, and give it a good reputation just by selectively hiring and teaching employees that had the ability to treat customers incredibly well, and make them want to return. Though I believe customer service is an important factor in a company's reputation, there are also many others, such as quality of products, media presence, and interaction with communities, that together, can help strengthen a company's reputation.

What businesses do you think have a good reputation (name three not on this list)?

The first company in my list that I believe managed to garner a good reputation was Tesla. This company was able to brand itself as creating “cars of the future” and prides itself on it’s high quality, and environmentally safe cars. The company also participates in many different charities, and the CEO is well known for having a passion to help move the world into the future. The second company with a good reputation would be Starbucks. In recent years the company attempted to change its approach to customer service drastically by selectively hiring, and teaching its employees how to treat customer’s and was incredibly successful. The final company I believe has a good reputation is Molsen Canadian. I find that this company was very clever with the way it branded itself, as it attached itself to Canada itself. The company prides itself on being Canadian, and is very patriotic in its branding, which appeals to many Canadians. Overall I believe the three companies; Tesla, Starbucks, and Molsen Canadian were all able to achieve a good reputation using their own unique strategies and methods.

    What
businesses do you think have a poor reputation (name three)?

The first Business that I believe has a poor reputation is actually a group of companies, and they are Rogers, Bell, Fido, and other telecom giants in Canada. All these companies are known for having poor customer service, and for doing a poor job at provided what their supposed to offer. Canada suffers from having the most expensive data plans in the world (worse than 3rd world countries) and continually has the worst rating for providers in the world. These companies also work together to prey on smaller businesses and to keep prices up. The second business I believe has a bad reputation is Walmart. The reason I believe that Walmart has a bad reputation is because of many media upsets that occured in the past few years. On multiple occasions Walmart was caught trying to hide the fact that many of their suppliers included sweatshops from very poor nation such as bangladesh. Instead of coming “clean” Walmart refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing, and attempted to make it harder to track where they got their products from. The final company I believe has a bad reputation is East Side Marios. The reason for this is because they have done little to no marketing, and many locations have not been improved since they were built. The reputation this business has slowly developed is dirty, dying, and low quality, and this is purely because of a complete loss of momentum for the company, and lack of marketing.

  5. I think a company gains its reputation by the quality of its good as well as the trust of the consumers.Everything done by this company is determine by its consumers as well as it working conditions a company with gains it also by how they promote their items.

The Criteria of of a good business will be the good plan brought by the company for example Ron Finklestein argues in his 2006 "Entrepreneur" article that complex business plans are not required to make a business successful, he also says business plans should be "well thought out and well executed," including financial, marketing and product information. And other point will be the the training and assessment becauseTo be successful, businesses need to commit resources and time to training their employees, as well any independent contractors with whom they work.

The three companies with good reputation are:
    GOOD YEAR
    Giorgio Armani
    VISA

Three companies with bad reputation are:

    Charter Communications
    Sears
    Monsanto

  6. In my opinion, a company gets a good reputation when they have a good relationship with their customers, good work conditions, good pay and good product or service. If the company has a good relationship with it's customers then it will probably get more customers than if it didn't have a good relationship and that's common sense, no one wants to go somewhere they don't like. The business also needs a good relationship with their employees, so having good work conditions and a good pay can easily cause that. Having a good product or service is what brings the customers in, so a company needs that if they want a good reputation, a company wont get a good reputation from selling sun glasses that don't block the sun.

Three companies I think have a good reputation are Apple, Amazon and Rolex. First off, Apple is easily one of the biggest tech companies in the world, it sells phones, tablets and computers and a lot of each. Not only that, they all are good. The iPhones are probably the best phones their are, so are the iPads in terms of tablets, the MacBooks maybe not the best but they are still up there and they sell a good amount because Apple has such a good reputation. Second, Amazon is by far the biggest shipping companies in the world, anything you want to buy you can find on there. One example of how big the company is, it sent out half of all the packages in the U.S. last year. Because the company is so reliable and it has everything you would ever want to buy it has a great reputation. Finally, Rolex is by far the biggest and best quality seller of watches, also the owner has donated tons of money to charity making him and his company have a great reputation.

    1. I agree that a companies reputation doesn't just stem from how they treat customer, but also how they treat their own employees. Companies that utilize sweatshops like Walmart aren't receiving flack for bad customer service, but by regularly buying from them they are basically endorsing their 1 dollar a day salary.

  7. What do you think gives a company a good reputation? What are the criteria for a good business?
One of the most important thing that gives a company a good reputation is the employees. A company with a good reputation would have talented employees, who treat its people well and the company should also have an appealing workplace. If the company has appealing workplace costumers who have never come would want to come like having a nice painted wall, chairs, or trending furniture. Get engaged with your community helps with making a good reputation for a company. Your engagement will have everything to do with your values and goals. Being engaged helps in getting to know people, and getting back feedback. Quality of your goods and services can really affect the reputation, having high-quality goods really makes the community want to come to you and trust the company.

What businesses do you think have a good reputation (name three not on this list)?
Visa- Visa boasts is one of the most recognizable brands. Processing trillions of payments a year.
Apple- Apple is one of the highest phone company used in the world, and is a very trusted company.
Amazon- Amazon is a highly trusted brand and high-quality company.

What businesses do you think have a poor reputation (name three)?
Sears- Sears is a not very trusted and high-quality company. Consumers rate Sears just 77 out of 100, lower than any department store other than Ross and Walmart.
Dollar Stores- Some dollar stores have very cheap quality and don't not very friendly employees.
Wells Fargo- Wells Fargo is not a high quality or trusted brand by the consumers. Wells Fargo is also not a very well known company.

    1. I agree with you that companies with good reputations are engaged in the community and have and appealing workplace. 8. There are multiple factors that give a company a good reputation. First of all, a company should respect ethical codes, trustworthy and respectful to both clients and competitors. Also, a company should stand by its business promises and offers, for instance, if a company advertised for a 20% discount on a certain time, they should stick to their commitment on time. A company should pay attention to costumers complaints and feedbacks, in order to improve their products and services. The companies reputation is essential to its continuance, according to the Business in Focus magazine(July 11, 2018,), a company with a good reputation is beneficial in many ways, the support of the organization especially in times of crises, and also customers would have a preference for the company that have a good reputation even if a similar company have the same products.

The criteria for a good business are many. At first, a business that is capable of selling unique and high-quality products that no other companies are producing to impress consumers. Finally, an important factor for business success is keeping prices well controlled and manageable by consumers.

Amazon, BMW, and Microsoft are companies that have a good reputation. They are always doing what they can to help clients and they have a positive image publicly. According to the msn in an article( 17,05,2018), Amazon, Microsoft, and BMW are among the top 20 companies that have a good reputation.

Facebook, Fox Entertainment Group, and the Trump organization are examples for companies with a bad reputation because of their non-ethical acts. In 2017 a security officer who works in Facebook has declared to the public that Facebook is getting paid for ads to achieve political goals. When Trump ran for president, the Trump organization lost a significant amount of clients because of trump foolish acts. Fox Entertainment Group were in involved in a scandal in 2017, the O’Reilly Factor,” which was once the most famous news show on the channel and they were multiple sexual harassment allegations against them.

  9. I think it takes time to build a good reputation. If they produce reliable and quality products that the consumers enjoy they are more likely to recommend that business to others. They build a better reputation and trust in the market and the consumers feel like they can depend on them to solve the problem. I think of the criteria of a good business as friendly, reliable, high quality, and fairly priced. These things can also build a good reputation and the business can gain new customers through word of mouth from other customers.

    Businesses with a good reputation:
    • Google
I say google has possibly the best reputation in Canada. They provide a wide variety of excellent services all across Canada, and they have a good customer service wing for people with any difficulties. They treat their employees right and they prioritize protecting the environment.

    •A&W
A&W is known for their good root beer and for the absence of steroids and hormones in their beef. The high quality of the burgers and root beer makes the consumers happy and they build more trust in the restaurant. This makes their reputation better across Canada.

    •Apple
When you look around, most people use an iPhone as their cell phone. This is because Apple has a very high reputation throughout Canada. The easy to use, reliable phones are debatably the best in Canada. Similar to Google, Apple has products and services in many markets and continues to grow daily.

    Businesses with a bad reputation.
    •Hydro One
In Ontario, Hydro One has a horrible reputation. They are known for their extremely high rates and have faced lots of protest recently. The government is finally starting to take action and attempt to lower the rates.

    •Heinz
Heinz ketchup ruined their reputation throughout Canada by moving factories out of Canada. This caused a massive boycott from Canadians and most Canadians switched to using French's ketchup because it's made in Canada.

    •United Airlines
After the scandal where they dragged an innocent man off of a flight and injured him and after sending someones dog to Japan by accident, United's reputation has diminished immensely. This has caused some customers to choose other airlines instead of them

  10. I think that companies with a good reputation put their costumers first, the cost of their good or service is equivalent or smaller than the value, they don’t lie when advertising , so their good or service is exactly what they say it is, or they surprise you and give you more than they expect, and they treat their employees well.

I think some companies with good reputations are Apple, Disney, and Costco. These companies have good reputations because, with Apple they are very user-friendly and make sure that the customers get what they want. With Disney they do what they do very well and no child’s life is complete without Disney. Costco sells a lot of different things so they cover a bunch of different needs all for a very low price which attracts a lot of customers.

Some companies with bad reputations are united airlines, Bell, and revenue Canada. These companies have a bad reputation because they do things without telling the customers about it and it surprises the costumers in a bad way. Knighted airlines has the customers buy tickets but then takes them away if if they need extra space. Bell doesn’t tell their customers about an exit fee if they want to stop using bell. Revenue Canada takes too much money from people who don’t pay their taxes, and they don’t give people who have extra money back the money they deserve.

  11. I think that for a company to have a good reputation they have to have things that are advertised as they are sold and are at an affordable price. If they sold something that was not like what their advertisements showed people would return it and get their money back therefore the store isn’t making a profit and they would have angry customers. Also what makes a good company is the help that employees offer their customers. Whether it is an online business or in-store, if you have a nice, educated employee who knows what they are doing, customers would have a much better time at the store. Especially for popular companies, having the employees make sure feel welcome and find the things you need while also making sure everyone else is ok makes it a much better experience. Therefore the main criteria for a good business are, good advertisement and affordability, educated employees who can do things at a good rate (ex. being fast at checkout in a store) and making sure that everyone is dealt with properly.

One place that I love to shop at is Garage, the employees they have are always so positive and always greet you with a smile when you come in the door. Also they ask if you need any help finding anything and if you say no they don’t pressure you and they respond nicely. Also one thing that I love is that, at checkout they as if anyone helped you and you say no they say that they are sorry meaning that they want to help their customers. Another store that is like this is Tribal Voices. The employees always say hello and welcome you into their store and they are super friendly. The Tribal Voices in Lakefield have great employees especially because I go there often so they are always super nice to me and when I buy clothing they give me a wrapped, fresh one. Finally The Body Shop has a good reputation because they are environmentally friendly and don’t test their products on animals, like other companies do. Also they always have little gift bags for different occasions (ex. Mothers Day and Birthdays).

The main business that I think has one of the worst reputations is Bell, for many reasons. When you are talking to bell to get help they put you on hold for hours and when you finally get to talk to someone they don’t end up giving you the help that you need. "Bell Canada experienced the most significant drop of any company in the survey, falling to 96th this year from 58th in 2007." Two businesses that have similar bad qualities are Wish and Amazon. They are both online businesses where people sell things but the main problem is that things are very falsely advertising because the sellers can put any picture and description they want and send a different thing. Youtubers actually buy things from Wish just to see the difference between the real thing they advertised and the cheap thing they got from what they ordered for a few dollars.

    1. I agree with the businesses you believe have a good reputation. All of the stores you mentioned have exceptional costumer service; costumer service is important because it motivates you to return back to the store like you mentioned. Most likely if Tribal Voices had a bed reputation due to their poor costumer service you would not return as often as you do. Therefore, costumer service is extremely important for businesses to keep in mind.

    2. I agree that lying while advertising is something that businesses definitely shouldn’t do. It aggravates the customers, and gives a bad image to the business. Unless of course the product is better then they say it is, for example they say it’s buy one get one free, but then you hen there and it is actually buy one get two free, then it helps the image of the business, and there for should definitely be done.

  12. There are a lot of different companies nowadays, and each company serves a different goal. Some company have a good reputation, but some company don’t. So what actually in my opinion is a good reputation?

In my opinion, a company with a good reputation described that the company is legal, moral and ethical, and provide the customers a good solution to the type of products that they are looking for. A company with a bad reputation described that the company is not that moral and ethical, more is left the customers behind, and ignoring the feedback that customers had sent. A company with a good reputation is not always the company that most people want to buy their products from, and a company with a bad reputation is not always the company that people hate the most, sometimes people do like them.

Being a software developing learner for many years, I believe that I got a couple of companies listed with either good and bad reputations, but I don’t think that everyone should agree with me. The three companies with a good reputation are Google, Freedom Mobile and LG Electronics. First of all, Google is known as a good company that is open sourced, and tolerate to everyone, mostly explained the freedom that people can share their ideas through the heart of Internet and Web Services. Then, Freedom Mobile actually got the name before, which is called Wind Mobile. Wind Mobile in Canada before is actually not that popular. Wind is known for their poor customer services before, but when they changed to Freedom Mobile, people found out that they actually don’t need that much customer services. The main reason is that Freedom Mobile is by now the most budget and efficient Phone Plan company that existed. It got the plan of 50 dollars per month with 10 Gigs of full speed LTE connections, and the coverage area is actually really good now, even included Lakefield. Last, LG Electronics, is a South Korea company, and they created many high-end products that many people would like, mostly of the LG G series and V series smartphones, and their Quantum Point Televisions.

On the other side, companies with a bad reputation is being really controversial, but I believe that on my list, the top three is labeled Apple, Samsung and Huawei. Apple used to make the most-used electronic products in past years, with the rise of iPhone 5s. But now, with the release of iPhone X, Apple seemed to be a copycat of what other companies has already have before. First is about the Face ID, Google has Face Recognition build-in in their Android operating system since 2013 with the release of Android 4.4 KitKat. Second is the new gesture-based navigation method, Blackberry has this swipe gesture built-in their Blackberry 10 operating system also since 2013. Third is the almost full-screen display and the disappearance of the front-facing buttons, Google has transferred their top line phone companies to using all on-screen buttons since 2014, and the almost full screen display is leaded to the market by the company Sharp in Japan, with the phone Sharp Aquos Crystal, and then leaded to the world by the company Xiaomi with the phone Mi Mix, and Mi Mix got 90.76% of screen-to-body ratio, which iPhone X only got 80.18%. Then, Samsung is also a copycat of what Google has already have, mostly because of the Bixby Assistant on Galaxy S8, S9 and Note 8 series, which caused conflicts to Google Assistant. Last, Huawei is a popular company now, but more of Huawei is gathering a lot of big companies like Leica and Porsche, and have their names written on their Huawei smartphones, and causing a lot of views.

For conclusion, which companies have good or bad reputations is always depending on you, you don’t need to believe in and agree with me, I’m just providing an example.

    1. I agree that a company with a good reputation described that the company is legal, moral and ethical, and provide the customers a good solution to the type of products that they are looking for. However, I think reputation is more like most people's opinion not the things company does or used to do.

  13. A company gets good reputation by having good products and do good things for people. The business that makes people live better and do everything honest is a good business.
The good reputation businesses are alipay and Bilibili. The bad reputation businesses are Wechat, Tencent Video and Tencent Games.
Alipay is the idea Jack Ma created himself. He created it because he thinks it’s inconvenient to get money from the bank and putting the money in bank is both safe and unsafe. It is safe because the security for the money in bank is good and even if the money get disappeared, the bank will still give back the money. It’s not safe because bank will get the money if some accidents happens. For example if a person died and his money is still in the bank. The money will belong to the bank. Alipay avoids that and makes paying easier. We don’t need to carry a credit card that can be easily lost. We only need to download alipay on our phone and scan the QR code for paying. Wechat itself is something mixes different apps’ idea. However none of the ideas is original. It copies from Telegram, Path and Facebook. And the wallet/paying and QR code copies from Alibaba’s Alipay. Alipay’s original idea is to make people’s life easier and Wechat’s original idea is to make more people know the company Tencent and get more money by attract people use its other apps.
The video app Bilibili started as a small video app. It was not expected to be that famous in China like now. It was created to simulate the Japanese video app NIconico. It provides people to watch the videos similar as the ones on NIconico without the language barrier and can be able to watch lots of videos from different websites uploaded by different people. Everyone can get membership by doing the provided test. The test is mainly for people to be civilized when we watch the video, and report the ones not following the rules. The membership for Tencent Video can only be reached by paying money every months. The reporting does not work well and there is no specific rules for this video site. The original idea of Tencent video a is getting money, not bringing fun to people.
The Tencent game has the worst reputation. It has destroyed lots of teenagers and even made some adults put too much money in it that they cannot afford. Games should be the thing good for people. However, Tencent game wants to get more money. They did that by making people addicted to the games and the only way for being stronger in the game is put more money in the game. Some teenaagers even pay millions RMB for that. Tencent game knows the harm they brought. However, they don’t take any action because they don’t care about that. They only care they gain more money or not.

Nowadays, the reputation is more and more important for company. They all want to have good reputation from consumer. The evaluation of consumers is highly valued by investors.

Giving a company a good reputation can enhance the image of the enterprise and leave a deep impression on consumers. There will be more investors willing to invest that company. What’s more, the company would obtain more consumers, also it will make more profits definitely. Bad reputation directly causes the enterprise to lose profits, as nobody want to buy the products or services from a company which has the bad reputation, and the image of the enterprise will also be ill formed.

Talking about the criteria for a good business means many people are willing to buy your company’s goods or services, and most people will give you a high opinion, what’s more, a company can consider products or services that are suitable for all kinds of people, also the prices are moderate. Their products or services are constantly improving according to the opinions of the public, and constantly promote better products and services.

There are lots of companies that have the good reputations, such as Disney, Google, Adidas, Rolls-Royce and so on. From Harris Poll survey, I found TAKATA, WEKKS FARGO, Goldman Sachs, Monsanto……are those bad reputations enterprises.

  15. A companies reputation is crucial; the reputation of a business decides if they will succeed or fail. When I think of a company with a good reputation, I think about trust. Consumers must have trust in the brand name, product, and service provided. If customers trust the company, they will continue to purchase from them and refer the company to their friends. Also, a company's reputation is built by how they advertise and market it. In today's society, many companies advertise through TV commercials because they are garnered to reach many viewers. Personally, I gain respect for big name companies when they release a moving and well thought out commercial; therefore, I believe how a company portrays their business is key to having a good reputation. Lastly, I believe a good reputation is built from customer feedback. For instance, if a variety of costumers post a bad review due to poor costumer service, a new consumer may take their business elsewhere. Overall, I believe a good reputation is built by trust, marketing, and the consumers influence.
In my opinion, the top three businesses with a good reputation are Rogers, A&W, and Apple. I have recently gained respect for Rogers due to their new commercial "Make Being There Possible". This commercial is very relatable and moving, therefore it is more memorable to viewers. Based on the commercial, costumers may consider Rogers for future business. This certain commercial features a young girl who just learned to drive and must call her father for help; this could reach viewers like myself who are at that age and may possibly end up in the same situation. Next, I believe A&W has built a very good reputation from the establishment of the company. This is due to the fact that their burgers contain no hormones or steroids. The company toured across Canada to show citizens that they're the "Better Tasting Burger", as their commercial was named. Lastly, I believe that Apple has a very good reputation. When I think of Apple I always think of good things like the quality of their phones, laptops, headphones, etc. Also, Apple does really well in marketing as well; they released a new commercial called "iPad- Homework" that is extremely relatable for many kids around the world. In the commercial, the teacher assigns a project and instead of the kids dreading it, they had fun putting everything together on the iPad. Therefore, Apple was smart in recognizing the common problem of homework for children and finding a way to make it better through their product. Therefore, I trust that these three companies will continue to be successful and have an ongoing good reputation.
In my eyes, the top three businesses with a poor reputation would be Bombardier, Nestle, and H&M. I believe Bombardier's poor reputation stems from the fact that they borrowed a great amount of money, laid off many employees, and are not meeting product demand that they committed to. In 2017, the Federal Government of Canada announced a loan to Bombardier for $372 million. After that, Bombardier CEO cut 14 500 jobs worldwide; then, payed $32 million in bonus' to the top six highest payed executives. Next, I believe Nestle has a bad reputation based on how they use child labour. In 2001, it was revealed that Nestle had been using 'farms on the Ivory Coast' where 600,000 children had been kept in bad living conditions. These farms were finally shut down in 2012 and Nestle then promised they would change their ways, but little has been reported since. Lastly, I believe H&M has gained a bad reputation also by their use of child labour. "In 2010, a Bangladeshi sweatshop which supplied H&M with their goods caught fire, leaving 21 workers dead." (COMPANY CULTURE / OCT. 10, 2016). Ever since this incident the company has suffered from a bad reputation. Therefore, I suppose all of these companies will continue to be affected by their bad reputations.

  16. What do you think gives a company a good reputation?
Companies have a good reputation for the good management of their bank accounts and the good treatment of their employees so that they do a better job for the company and progress positively in a mental way. These aren't the only reasons of why a company have a good reputation, but these are some of the important factors. It all depends in the company. If it is an commercial company the good reputation can be earn by the percentage of sales and the comments of the public if their social media page is good, informative, if they have products with good quality and if the delivery of the product is to trust. If it is a company about a product. Is almost the same as having a commercial company that includes good comments from the public, the quality of the product, the delivery and social media page. But some of the important factors are the inspections on the workplace if there's any danger in the product like bacterias. Something that could put in danger the society to get sick.

What are the criteria for a good business?
The criteria of a company is what makes the company grow in a financial way and economic way. The sales of a companies product helps with the economic of a company, the financial management is what keeps the company alive, promotions for the workers, the way they manage the product to be helpless and the performance of the goals the company have in their mind.

What businesses do you think have a good reputation (name three not on this list)?
Apple, this business has improve a lot in the years knowing they came out on top in both the innovation and the leadership categories.
Canon, this business is the world's biggest maker of cameras and printers has been expanding further this year and is also the third most reputable brand in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Microsoft, This company is doing so well in the tablet market, outperforming Apple. What makes this company so big are the windows system, Xbox and Microsoft Office.

What businesses do you think have a poor reputation (name three)?
Comcast, in the past three years Harris Interactive has ranked the business as one of the least reputable companies. One of the major issues of this company are the bad customer service.
Wells Fargo, this business became the first of the “big four” banks whose consumers indicated they have started to admire and trust again. In the past year, the company’s stock rose just 16%, versus 29.4% for J.P. Morgan, 33% for Citigroup, and more than 50% for Bank of America.
J.P. Morgan, this business lost approximately $5.8 billion when a trader commonly referred to as the London Whale took excessively large trading positions in complex financial instruments that ended up souring.

  17. I think that some major factors affecting a company's' reputation include the quality of their product is, how their employees treat consumers, and how the company treats their employees.

Companies with bad reputation include Pita Pit, Buzzfeed, and Nestlé.

First of all, Pita Pit is a company with a great idea behind it, but when you look at the reviews the customer service appears to be terrible. There are multiple complaints about employees not washing their hands, going out for a smoke and coming back in and making the pita without washing their hands or putting on gloves, and horrible delivery times. Part of the reason behind this is that Pita Pit employs young entrepreneurs to help young people make some money, however this backfired and resulted in the employees not knowing how to treat their customers.

Second of all, Buzzfeed has a fairly large fan base, however most people are either split 50/50. Some people choose to view buzzfeed as just a fun outlet for entertainment, however others choose to look at buzzfeed at a more serious stance, looking at the news, but have trust issues as if you look around the buzzfeed website, it appears just to be some sort of huge joke.

Finally, Nestlé. In the year 2001, Nestlé was found to have been using many farms on the Ivory Coast hosting about 600,000 children in well below standard living conditions. Shockingly the company continued to use the same farms right up until 2012, when the company pledged to change their ways, although not much has been said on the topic since then.

Some companies with good reputation that aren't on the list include Rolex, Disney, and Lego.

First of all, disney land is known by almost everyone for being a magical place were the world comes together and kids and adults go there to forget about all of their problems. SO it is no surprise that disney has a massive fan base which is continually growing.

Second of all, Rolex. Rolex is a watch brand that has been selling top quality watches for about 113 years now, any in that time they have produced some very fancy and high quality watches, so naturally most people who can afford the watches want to buy them to show off their riches, giving the company a good reputation and some free promotion while people show off their products on social media.

Finally, Lego is a childhood favourite toy for children 3 and older. The company has a genius product idea, one that allows its users to basically create anything they desire, making it most kid’s top choice in their birthday or christmas wish list.

  18. I think providing good work conditions to employees is the first step to get a good reputation. With good work conditions, employees will be working more harder and providing good quality of products and services to customers. Those are the ways to get a good reputation. There are the criteria for good business like sales, product management, and promotions. Sales are the lifeblood of any business and require multiple, specific objectives for maximum success. It is important to attract new buyers and also increasing use among the regular customers. Additionally, to make high quality products and services, analyzing continually the products or services is vital. Promoting their products is the way to keep the company and products or services in the minds of customers.

Rolex, Walt Disney, and Canon are the companies with a good reputation. Rolex has recorded and overall excellent score with high quality products, being well-organized and profitable. The Walt Disney entertainment firm made the biggest impression on respondents’ perceptions in the performance category, showing that people believe the company to be profitable.

Monsanto, Foxconn, and Equifax are the companies with a bad reputation. Monsanto is the subject of a class-action lawsuit alleging that exposure to the company’s popular weed killer, Roundup, caused cancer in hundreds of consumers.
